on almost 70 years
of caring.
Your home from home
Our beautiful home, built in 1905 as a private residence, stands in five acres of landscaped gardens and woodland, in a quiet residential street in Chislehurst. Unusually for a care home, ours retains many original features, like the wood flooring and panelling, giving Antokol a strong sense of history, and making it feel warm and homely all year round.
We have 36 bedrooms and each is equipped with a Nurse Call system. There are 17 rooms on the ground floor, 19 on the first, with a lift or choice of three staircases to go between them. All our rooms are bright and decorated and furnished to a very high standard, and you can bring your personal and precious items with you to make the room your own. There are shower rooms and adapted bathrooms, and you can choose which to use each day. Although the rooms are for single occupancy, some of them can be arranged to accommodate couples.
There are communal areas for activities and get-togethers, and a lounge for privacy. Family and friends are welcome to visit at any time.
More than a registered care home supporting people with complex nursing needs and dementia, we’re like a large, relaxed family, where you are welcome for long and short stays and respite care. Our exceptional nurses, carers and activities co-ordinators are here to keep you company and to support you when you need it. You might like to know that we haven’t used agency personnel in 11 years, which means the faces you’ll see will be familiar ones.
Our religious services
We have our own chapel and the Roman Catholic parish priest from the Polish Brockley-Lewisham parish acts as Chaplain to Antokol. Mass is celebrated on Sundays and Fridays and also on feast days and all residents are free to attend these services.
You can meet clergy of your denomination at any time at Antokol, and a private room will be made available to you. You can attend religious services here or in the community.
