Where there’s a welcome home.
Your home from
home, where your
independence matters.
Care and
compassion are
our cup of tea.
We haven’t used
agency staff in
15 years.

Welcome to Antokol

It’s not easy moving from your own home to a care home, and that’s why it’s important to us that you feel welcome. We want to satisfy all your needs – physical, mental and spiritual – so that you’ll always feel at home. And, with more members of staff than residents (36 bedrooms, 50 staff), we’re able to spend time with everyone, whether chatting, reading, going for a walk or enjoying a game, because at Antokol time is never in short supply.

The quality of the care we deliver is as important to us as the respect we have for you, the life you’ve led, your experiences, your knowledge. Much of what we do at Antokol is enhanced by what we learn from you. We like a two-way street.

In our latest CQC inspection report Antokol is rated GOOD overall, and OUTSTANDING for caring. This is the third time we have received a rating of OUTSTANDING for caring in our last three inspections. Click here to read the full report.

“Our mother was accepted here, for a short term stay. She was welcomed wholeheartedly and seemed to be instantly known to every member of staff. The quality of input from the manager and staff is truly amazing. They are all so kind and thoughtful. Nothing is too much trouble and they are proactive. The range and quality of food that is provided is first class. Visitors are welcomed and treated hospitably.”
Jerzy M, son of resident
“My father is very happy at the home. The standard of care is excellent. All his needs are met in the loving, caring, family environment of the home - his health, social activities, the high standard of food, Polish traditions and the welcome which relatives and friends receive. I am very grateful to the home for their care of him.”
Eva S, daughter of resident
“My aunt has stayed in Antokol for 16 years - she said it was a 5* hotel. Everyone is so kind, helpful, considerate, excellent food and entertainment. As years progressed she became weaker - the carers did more for her no problem. Special bed, wheelchair - much help. Sadly she went to heaven aged 95 on 31/3/19. Anyone needing love and care - Antokol is best.”
Irena P, niece of resident
“My wife has MS in advanced form. She is wholly reliant on others for both nursing and oral care. Her needs are complex and she requires close monitoring. Having completed two weeks of respite at Antokol, where I was present throughout, I do not hesitate to say that they exceeded my highest expectations. Both nursing and personal care were of the highest standard.”
Stanley B, husband of resident
“Both my sister and myself are so grateful to you and your wonderful team. The care that you all gave dad was simply AMAZING. We could not have asked for more. I hope that our gifts to all of Antokol bring a smile to their faces as they remember our sunshine, Czeslaw Cherry. We will be eternally grateful.”
Paul and Caroline, son and daughter of resident
“I cannot fully express my thanks to you personally for everything that you did for my mother. We were all amazed when she chose Antokol - she obviously picked up that it is a very special place where the loving care is exceptional. I also believe that the spiritual needs of the residents is given appropriate importance as they approach the end of their lives. I fully intend to carry on supporting you in your valuable work which you carry out each day in a gentle, selfless & generous manner.”
Patricia S, daughter of resident
“To Isabella, the sisters, the nurses, the secretarial staff, the maintenance guys, the cooks, the cleaners and all of your smiley, loving carers. Thank you for your gentle, respectful care of Father John. He at last feels at home with his new family. The birthday was memorable!”
Hilary M, friend of resident
“I would like to thank all your wonderful staff at Antokol. I heard some lovely stories about my dad’s time spent with some of you and this has helped me to know that he did have special moments of fun and enjoyment. I know I could not have placed dad in a better home.”
Danusia R, daughter of resident
“Antokol has mainly Polish residents but the English residents and their families were equally happy with the care and had chosen the home for its caring ethos. In the last days of my mother’s life, the staff treated her and us with exceptional solicitude and care and we could not have hoped for a better place for her to end her days.”
Teresa S, daughter of resident
